First, let me say it was a pleasure to be asked back to photograph this event and see so many familiar faces! What a fantastic evening of art and freedom of expression!
Second, I have been asked why I photograph these types of events as they seldom lead to paid work. After thinking about the question, I suppose I would have this answer.
My photography has always revolved around people. I do get great pleasure from photographing actors and capturing the latest glamour shot but that doesn't even come close the the feeling I get when I successfully capture "moments".
What moments you may ask? How about the image where a couple is sharing an intimate kiss while the rest of the body painting is being done. How about the intent look of a painter as she lovingly designs her flesh canvas? What about the women captured while dancing as the sun set?
These shots have been described by some as "artsy". I just just consider them moments. I hope you will enjoy them and perhaps you will find your favorite moment. See you next ride!
